The Goffstown Police Explorers are looking for motivated and dedicated students who are interested in a law enforcement career.

To join Post #394, you must:

  • Be between the ages of 14 and 20 years old
  • Maintain a "C" average in school
  • Possess a clean criminal record
  • Display a strong teamwork oriented attitude
  • Be willing to attend explorer meetings and events

Rank

Similar to an actual law enforcement agency, the Goffstown Police Explorers have a rank structure. Each student enters the program as an explorer. After six months, an explorer may be nominated and elected to officer positions, such as Captain, Lieutenant, or Sergeant. After completing high school, an explorer is eligible to become a senior cadet.

Awards

Explorers work very hard during the year to be eligible for awards. An explorer may have to donate 100 hours of his or her time to the community or department in order to receive one award. There are ten awards that explorers work towards, called Proficiency Awards. The awards come in the form of either certificates or ribbons worn on the uniform.

If you feel that you are qualified to join the Goffstown Police Explorers, please fill out our online pre-application and someone will contact you advising you when the next meeting is. You then need to print and fill out our paper application and bring it to your third meeting with two letters of reference.
